Released

Create fixed priced tasks in Projects

We’ve added a new task type in Projects which allows small business users to track their variable hours on a task, but charge it out at a fixed price. This feature makes invoicing a whole lot easier for service businesses who charge a fixed amount based on a quote. But more importantly, it lets our customers track their variable costs and profitability on a job, whilst they charge a fixed amount for the work completed.

Next up we’ll be working on a couple of features that will give our users the ability to estimate their tasks and expenses on a job, then quote for the job from within Projects.

Edit and/or delete draft bills – Xero Business Mobile iOS & Android

Small businesses can now keep bills in order, by editing or deleting a draft or awaiting approval bill. This allows you to manage your bills more effectively by reducing errors and keeping your bills up to date, helping you run your business as smoothly as possible.

Add file attachments to bills  – Xero Business Mobile iOS & Android

Small businesses can already, add and edit bills on mobile, making you more efficient on the go. We’ve got more good news, you can now attach files to your bills by either; taking photos using your camera app, uploading from existing files or from your Xero inbox.

Disable two step authentication in Xero

It’s important to set up your alternative email in Xero as it helps you disable 2 step authentication in cases where you have lost/upgraded your phone or the answers to your security questions have eluded you. Temporarily disable two step authentication in Xero without contacting customer support.

In the “Account Settings” page in Xero, the alternative email address option will now appear if you select “I can’t use my authenticator app” and/or “I don’t remember my answers to these security questions”, allowing you to send an email to your alternative email address. This ultimately disables two step authentication and lets you login. Remember, you’ll need to reset your two step authentication again, following the prompts on screen, to protect your account from unauthorised use.

Additional check functionality – Canada

Small businesses and advisors now have more choice of date formats (YYYYMMDD, MMDDYYYY and DDMMYYYY) when using pre-printed cheques. In addition, you now have the ability to customise cheque alignment by excluding the payee name from being printed when including the address. These changes support more Canadian cheque stocks and are an easy way of printing cheques to pay your bills.

CIBC SmartBanking™ for Business Integration – Canada

Xero is now integrated with CIBC SmartBanking™ for Business to provide small businesses and advisors with timely financial data, empowering you to make quick informed decisions. By connecting Xero to CIBC’s SmartBanking for Business platform you can activate direct bank feeds and transfer your accounts payable and receivable data from Xero into the SmartBanking for Business platform.

Payroll Update

Coming Soon

Xero Practice Manager / WorkflowMax: Consolidated Invoicing

Small business and advisors will now have greater control over what’s included in invoices you send to your Xero account. The invoice total can now be exported as a single line item, or non-billable (zero value), tasks and costs can be left off the invoice. These customisation options allow you to eliminate unwanted details from invoices sent to clients, while keeping this information available in your XPM/WFM records.
