This Sunday is the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the celebration at the end of the Ramadan month of fasting.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is one of many religious holidays celebrated throughout the year in Singapore. It’s also celebrated across South and Southeast Asia.

The region is a widely diverse mix of ethnicity, language, religion and culture. Singapore alone is home to Chinese, Malay and Indian societies. Additionally there are many foreign workers from around the globe. The City state boasts harmonious and stable inter-cultural relations.

The unique blend of Singapore’s cosmopolitan social fabric means that its calendar is full of public holidays and celebrations. These range from Chinese New Year to Vesak Day, and Labour Day to Christmas Day. Singapore’s holiday calendar reminds us of the incredible strength that comes from appreciating and celebrating our cultural differences.
